Why Recliners Are Good for Your Mental Health...& Dog Approved!
Why Recliners Are Good for Your Mental Health (And the Stylish One I Swear By)
When most people think of recliners, they imagine those oversized, clunky chairs that dominated living rooms in decades past. But let me tell you, recliners have evolved — and they’re not just good for your posture; they might also be great for your mental health.
I recently added a vegan leather recliner to my home, and it has quickly become one of my favorite pieces of furniture. Not only is it a showstopper in my living space (hello, chic mid-century modern vibes), but it also feels like a little mental health retreat in chair form. And my doggy loves it!!!
BARRY APPROVED!
And no judgement, I leave on Bluey when I am gone during the day since I was told dogs can see in blue & yellow and this show has a lot of it. It makes me feel like Barry is less alone all day! LOL
Let’s dive into why I think a stylish recliner like this can elevate your space and your well-being.
1. It Supports Every Mood
Sometimes, you want to sit upright to work or scroll through your phone. Other times, you want to recline slightly to read, sip a cup of tea, or catch up on your favorite show. And then, there are those moments when you need to fully lay back and just take a nap.
This recliner does it all, effortlessly adjusting to whatever mood I’m in. The physical support it provides has an unexpected emotional benefit, too — it helps me feel grounded, calm, and ready to take on the day (or relax and let the day melt away).
2. A Retreat That Looks as Good as It Feels
As someone obsessed with creating spaces that feel like a little nook you never want to leave, I knew I needed a recliner that wouldn’t compromise style. This very good looking recliner (and there are a lot of not so great looking ones!!) is the perfect blend of function and aesthetics. Its vegan leather upholstery and sleek, clean lines fit seamlessly into my home, especially against my exposed brick wall.
Creating a beautiful environment is a form of self-care, and every time I see this chair, it brings me a little spark of joy. Bonus: It’s Instagram-worthy!
3. The Nap Chair You Didn’t Know You Needed
If you’re like me, you’ve had days where you need a quick nap but don’t want to fully commit to getting into bed. That’s where this chair shines.
Reclining into nap mode feels effortless — like the chair is saying, "Go ahead, take a break; you deserve it." It’s small moments like these that can make a stressful day feel manageable.
4. Your Space, Your Sanctuary
Mental health is deeply connected to your environment, and creating a space that feels both functional and beautiful is one of the best ways to care for yourself. This recliner has become my sanctuary within my home — a place where I can think, dream, and recharge.
If you’ve been on the fence about adding a recliner to your space, let this be your sign!
